Dr. Rokos and Dr. Gibson discuss prehospital STEMI activation pathways

I don’t know how I missed this, but click here (no longer active) to see a discussion between Dr. Rokos and Dr. Gibson regarding prehospital 12 lead ECGs. This was from LUMEN 2009.

  • Tazambo says:

I like the comment by Rokos that paramedics need to come straight to the ED and not straight to the Cath lab (even with an obvious stemi as “they might not know where the cath lab is…”

  • Tom B says:

I thought that was interesting too, Dave.I personally don’t have a problem with systems that bypass the ED when the cath lab is staffed and waiting for the patient. It seems to me that logistical issues like registering the patient can be solved. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.Tom
